Beth Williams Sings Songs for Heaven's Sake

Singer and songwriter, Beth Williams, has had a successful music career for over 30 years but has realized what she calls, "her purpose" in the last 5. She says, "Being around others striving to be in a closer walk with the Lord and leading them into worship is something I love and believe God created me to do." Her interest in performing music sparked when she was 12 years old. At the age of 14, her parents bought her a guitar. By the age of 20, she had established herself as a folk singer and songwriter. Concert performances included national and international tours. Her debut album, First Class, earned a nomination in 1988 for "Best New Female Vocalist of the Year" from the Academy of Country Music. Other awards and nominations followed. Then in the early 1990s, Beth gave up touring to stay close to her husband, Laird, and home in Mason. However, she did not stop singing and writing inspired songs. Her music ministry focused on playing interactive concerts for residents in assisted care facilities around the hill country area. Then in 2002, Beth devoted her singing and songwriting talents exclusively for praise and worship. Her latest CD release on Willow Creek Records is entitled Yodeling in Heaven, a compilation of new material and traditional gospel. With spiritual material, she leads musical worship at women's retreats and churches around Texas.

Beth says, "The first time I sang at a women's retreat, I felt as if I'd stepped into musical shoes designed to perfectly fit my feet. Since then, being the song leader at women's events has become a favorite part of my music ministry and it's always an honor to be invited. Plus these retreats are always great fun! One of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard is a room full of women's voices singing and offering up praise.
